Each autumn, my friend Guy picks apples from abandoned and wild apple trees in woods and scrubland around Manchester. He uses them to make a year’s supply of cider with a variety of home-made machines in his back yard. I have been documenting his efforts (and helping drink the cider) for the last couple of years.
